| WARNING paragraphs ahead!
There's a lot of things I like in the game but what sraws me into them has to be story. That's why I got addicted to FFVI because it was well laid out as well as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue. The previous installment was fun until I had to go through 99F dungeons at level 1, so then I kept my hopes up and was gifted with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Darkness.
As with the previous games PMD EoT/D bring back the concept of you once as a human who somehow transformed into a Pokemon. This time around I was surprised to see how the partner ends up finding you since in the last game they appeared out of nowhere and popped the big question after rescueing Caterpie. Still an actual origin is good for plot and the relic he has will show use later on. Another thing the baffles me, is how the guild works.
Basically the guild is ran by a 6 year old with superpowers, AKA Wigglytuff. Even though I would of preferred Honchkrow over the SSBB filler, Wiggytuff does add humor to the game. Honestly the guy (Yes it's a guy) can make the most dramatic moments into a bucket of laughs. Chatot is just awesome but still 2 characters perplex me with how their attitudes are played out. Bidoof who says golly, and other words who remind me of Goffy, and Corphish who says "hey, hey, hey" a lot... obviously Fat Albert. It seems like they needed a character base or this was entirely coinsidense. Still the way things go in the game are still the same but better.
Firstly there's no more mail system in EoT/D which is great since most of those letters are junk anyways. Now there is the normal recue board but the new addition made me think "AWESOOME!" which is the Fugitive Board. Basically just kill a Pokemon who has higher stats then those in a dungeon, which I find challenging. There is also one thing that caught me off guard and that's Sentry Duty. You basically have to tell which footprint belongs to one of the four pokemon choices they give you. Now I can tell some might find this boring but I absolutely enjoy it because if you get a perfect score you get a whole lot of items. That for me just adds to the fun.
Basically this game take things from the previous installment and gives it a boost. Gameplay is the same as well as how a lot of things work. Also this game kicks up the difficulty curve in MD1. So you maybe stuck by one level and have to train a bit and get a female Luxio to call Destiny to join your team and continue playing.
ADDED REVIEW! While following the epic story of the game with much awesomeness I began working towards the final level and the second I hit there the difficulty SPIKED up and stayed that way. You should be mid 30s but your up against level 40-50 maybe even 60! Trying to obtain the evolution place has the same effects but with Earthquake users and a very interesting... thing at the end. Seriously you NEED to be level 42 or something to even think of continuing, seriously it's that bad.
If you dislike the game then I'm very ashamed of you to not enjoy this wonderful game and if you continue to dislike it then me and SCM will just have to get some rope and make a noose... _________________
